PayPal Privacy Policy

This PayPal Privacy Policy explains how FreLeads uses PayPal account connection data when you choose to connect PayPal to FreLeads. This page applies only to the PayPal integration. Our general Privacy Policy remains available at /privacy.

1. Purpose of the PayPal Integration

FreLeads connects to PayPal only so freelancers can view and organize client payment activity inside their FreLeads workspace. The integration is designed for tracking and reconciliation, not money movement.

FreLeads does not use your PayPal connection to send money, receive money, withdraw funds, create payments, issue payouts, access bank accounts, access card numbers, or make changes to your PayPal balance.

2. PayPal Data We Request

When you connect PayPal, PayPal may provide FreLeads with limited account and transaction information, depending on the permissions you approve and the features enabled for our PayPal app.

• Your PayPal account email or display name, used to show which PayPal account is connected
• A PayPal account identifier, if PayPal provides one
• OAuth access and refresh tokens needed to keep the connection active
• Transaction history fields such as date, transaction ID, status, amount, currency, fee, payer or counterparty details, and transaction notes when available

3. Data We Do Not Request or Access

FreLeads does not request or store sensitive financial credentials that are not needed for transaction tracking.

• We do not access your PayPal password
• We do not access bank account numbers, debit card numbers, or credit card numbers
• We do not access your PayPal balance for withdrawal or transfer purposes
• We do not initiate, approve, refund, hold, send, or receive payments on your behalf
• We do not sell PayPal transaction data

4. How We Use PayPal Data

We use PayPal data only to provide payment visibility inside FreLeads.

• To show recent PayPal transactions related to your freelance business
• To help you match client payments with leads, clients, or CRM activity
• To calculate simple summaries such as total received, total fees, and net activity
• To display connection status and basic PayPal account identity in Settings
• To troubleshoot PayPal connection errors when you ask for support

5. Storage and Security

PayPal OAuth tokens are encrypted before storage and kept in server-side storage that is not exposed to the browser. The user interface stores only basic connection status, such as whether PayPal is connected and the PayPal account label shown in Settings.

FreLeads uses technical controls such as HTTPS, Firebase authentication, server-side API calls, and encrypted token storage to reduce unauthorized access risk.

6. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your PayPal data. We may process PayPal data through infrastructure providers that host or secure FreLeads, such as cloud hosting, database, and logging providers, only as needed to operate the service.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect FreLeads from abuse, or to respond to valid legal requests.

7. Disconnecting PayPal

You can disconnect PayPal from FreLeads in your FreLeads Settings. Disconnecting removes the active connection from FreLeads and deletes stored PayPal OAuth tokens from our systems.

You may also revoke FreLeads access from your PayPal account settings. If access is revoked in PayPal, FreLeads will no longer be able to refresh transaction data.

8. Data Retention

We retain PayPal connection metadata only while your PayPal integration is connected or as needed to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, or prevent abuse. OAuth tokens are deleted when you disconnect PayPal from FreLeads.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this PayPal Privacy Policy as the PayPal integration changes. The Last Updated date at the top of this page will show when the policy was last revised.
